A fine and early example of the Ralph Wood "ordinary" Toby jug Staffordshire c.1780. Crisply moulded and with no restoration - the visible glaze losses (hat etc) are good signs of an early Ralph Wood Toby and what you expect and want to see in much the same way as you expect to see rim nibbles on an 18th c delft plate - a lovely Toby jug!
