Noah's Ark made by WW1 soldiers at the War Relief Toy Works London c.1918

Noah's Ark made by WW1 soldiers at the War Relief Toy Works London c.1918

The War Relief Toy Works Factory was set up in Stoke Newington, North London to help rehabilitate soldiers who had been injured in WW1. This charming, original and play worn Noah's Ark would have been made around 1918, it measures 33" long, 17 1/2" tall and 8 1./2" wide, and comes complete with Noah, his wife and 18 pairs of animals and birds - coincidentally, a similar Noah's Ark features on page 42 of this weeks (7th May 2016) Antiques Trades Gazette.
