Rare 16th century stoneware "Witch's Jug"

Rare 16th century stoneware "Witch's Jug"

This well potted 16th pottery jug (from Kent or Sussex) is a rare survivor - perhaps because it was placed behind the chimney of a cottage in Kent many many years ago and presumably would have been left there to ward off evil spirits. In very good original condition and standing at 11 1/2" tall. The picture taken outside shows the colour more accurately.
