This is from a small number of fine Toby jugs that I acquired this week having been in a private collection for many years. A fine prattware Toby jug with central pipe Staffordshire c.1780. He has a waistcoat rather than cravat, canted base corners, large loop handle with acanthus leaf decoration and rich colouring - in very good original condition with Jonathan Horne label to underbase.
