Leeds Pottery - extremely rare marked Toby jug c.1800 - 1830

Leeds Pottery - extremely rare marked Toby jug c.1800 - 1830

This is an extremely rare Toby jug with the slightly curved base stamp “Leeds * Pottery” (dot and not asterisk ) which suggests late 18th century, however, I believe that this is more likely to be 19th century. Formerly in the collection of the Countess of Warwick at Easton Lodge in Essex. I first sold this on Ebay several years ago and at that time received messages from both the author of a book on Leeds Pottery and also a museum curator confirming that this is indeed a rare Toby jug and perhaps one of a very few, if not the only known example, with this curved stamp.
