A fine Staffordshire pearlware plaque c.1780 23cm x 15cm (9" x 6")
One of the nicest plaques that I have had in over 20 years! A charming scene of hunters with horses and dog being served ale by the maid outside an inn - decorated in translucent manganese, ochre and green glazes. A wonderful picture of 18th century life.

Significant late 17th century leather Bombard dated 1646 21 3/4" (55cm) tall
A magnificent and monumental late 17th century (possibly early 18th century) leather Bombard of slender baluster form standing 55cm tall, letters I X D stamped on footrim, a small lozenge to one side with verification numbers and an E stamped to one side. Bearing the (later) incised crowned date 1646 and initialled C R - Charles 1st. Rich patination and in very good condition with some wear to rim. (Provenance: Christie's, South Kensington, 2nd December 2014 Lot 378)
