Nestegg Antiques specialises in Staffordshire pearlware and creamware classical figures, busts and candle snuffers.
Whilst in the latter part of the 18th century the wealthy classes were able to decorate their homes with Chelsea, Bow or Derby figurines it was left to the Staffordshire potters to create more affordable pieces in creamware and pearlware for the less well off. These comprised single figures and groups depicting everyday folk in a variety of pursuits, classical, stage and religious figures as well as busts of military, political and royal personages.
Whilst their popularity waned somewhat several years ago good Staffordshire figures are now very much back in demand and are fetching good prices - Nestegg Antiques always has a good range of Staffordshire figures so please let us know if you are looking for a particular piece.
