Fine and rare Prince Hal Toby jug Staffordshire c.1800 15 1/4" tall

Fine and rare Prince Hal Toby jug Staffordshire c.1800 15 1/4" tall

This is an imposing and rare Toby jug with less than 20 recorded. The Prince Hal Toby is said to represent either Sir Toby Belch from twelfth night or King George IV (when Prince of Wales) when he attended a Brighton ball dressed as Henry V111. This example is very well decorated and in surprisingly good condition - a quite remarkable figure!
